Ranva Lærke Sørensen most often work with painting, sculpture and etchings. She has been experimenting with new things, and in the field of etching, she has worked a lot with different color combinations of black and how it affects the subject.
She has just attended VERA Billedkunst B in Denmark and has been accepted to Bergen Academy of Art and Design in Norway.
She is exhibiting a project where she explores the old craftsmanship, etching. Etching is traditionally the process of using strong acid or mordant to cut into the unprotected parts of a metal surface to create a design incised in the metal. Each print is unique in that sense, as they are all printed with different colors and techniques. The motifs on the prints each create their mythical narrative based on the selected objects and figures etched into the plate, and the colors help to create a framework for their narrative.
