Emma Kallan is 27 years old, from Fyn and she study painting at Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg. Her oil paintings circulate in a romantic movement around an ecocentric (anti-Anthropocene) point of view: where there are no dominant power structures and Hiraki between humans - the other animals, and nature.

Cuteness plays a central role in her paintings. In addition to the fact that cuteness appears in nature as an evolutionary survival mechanism, she also sees the phenomenon as an ultimate healing force. Her artistic practice is carried by intuitive processes and conversations/collaborations and by focusing on the balance between looking outward and inward.
