Christiane grew up in the countryside watching her grandmother, who was also an artist, paint and mix colors. The two of them painted together when she was old enough to hold a pencil herself. It’s safe to say that her art today is inspired by her grandmother’s way of painting, being colorful, impulsive, cubistic, and with many different structures. Christiane often finds her inspiration in the different color combinations in nature, fruits, and plants.

Living in London and being part of the London Drawing Group, she developed an interest in different techniques. In her art, she experiments with everything from sand, marasca, coal, spices, and a mix of different types of paint. Today Christiane lives in Copenhagen but heads off to the countryside in Fredensborg, where she mainly paints outside by the sea or anywhere in nature where she finds her inspiration.
